Lopez will assume the chief people and culture role effective March 18 and report to Advocate CEO Eugene Woods.

She’ll be responsible for people programs and human resource strategies for the 68-hospital nonprofit system. Lopez replaces Jim Dunn, who joined Atrium in 2018.

Most recently, Lopez served as chief human resources officer for Dallas-based hospital operator Baylor Scott & White, where she oversaw talent management and human resources planning. Previously, she was the vice president of human resources at Barclays Capital, after the company acquired Lehman Brothers.

Lopez has a master’s in business administration from the University of Phoenix.

Advocate Aurora Health merged with Atrium Health in late 2022, creating a $27 billion system that serves and serving patients in Illinois, Wisconsin, Georgia, North Carolina, South Carolina and Alabama.

The operator notched a $79.4 million operating income during its nine-month 2023 earnings reported in November.
