Hit the streets

It’s always nice to highlight a really promising indie project, and we like to think that The Precinct fits the bill. We actually wrote about this one a whole 12 months ago, but now it has a PS5 release date. The top-down police sim arrives on the 15th August.

Basically, you play as a cop in a city that’s made up of procedurally generated crime. One minute you’re handing out parking tickets, the next you’re gunning down armed bank robbers or tail-ending maniacs off the freeway.

You can catch some gameplay in the above launch date trailer, but we think this overview video from developer Fallen Tree Games provides a better idea of what the title’s all about:

Robert Ramsey

Robert (or Rob if you’re lazy) has been a fan of PlayStation since the 90s, when Tekken 2 introduced him to the incredible world of video games. He still takes his fighting games seriously, but RPGs are his true passion. The Witcher, Dragon Quest, Mass Effect, Final Fantasy, he’s played ’em all — a little too much, some might say.
