Moncayo-land

FAJARDO, PR – Juniper Capital, a leading real estate investment and development firm, in partnership with Capital United, has officially unveiled Moncayo, a transformative 1,100-acre private residential community on Puerto Rico’s eastern seacoast. Complementing the natural beauty of the region, Moncayo has been designed to seamlessly integrate with the stunning landscape,
while fostering authentic community connections and respecting the island’s surroundings. With a sustainable and forward-thinking vision, the multi-phased community will integrate leading edge education, comprehensive wellness programs, and authentic agricultural offerings with modern luxury residential living.

“Moncayo is deeply rooted in Puerto Rico, from its rich natural environment and culture to its unrivaled position as the gateway to the Caribbean, offering endless opportunities for exploration and adventure,” said Carter Redd, Moncayo President. “Having worked intentionally to design a thoughtful and inspired new offering, we are proud to debut our community and reimagine the future of the island’s East Coast.”

Moncayo was designed by Hart Howerton, an architecture and land planning firm tasked to create an enduring yet timeless community experience with an enduring legacy. The design studio, known for projects including Palmetto Bluff in South Carolina, Half Moon Resort in Jamaica, and Chileno Bay in Mexico, took careful consideration to honor both the clientele as well as the rich culture and environmental integrity of Puerto Rico to conceive the community. The resulting design for Moncayo draws upon the island’s centuries old history, including Taino, Spanish colonial, and modernist influences, to represent an evolved tropical style that will define Moncayo.

Moncayo will feature a luxury branded 68-key oceanfront hotel, offering elevated cuisine and an unrivalled spa and wellness program. Boasting unobstructed views of the Caribbean Sea and the Spanish Virgin Islands, branded resort villas and branded private residences are complemented with an exclusive amenity collection and seamlessly managed services, designed to elevate the residential experience. Spanning the entirety of the property, the Moncayo Ocean Club will include an 18-hole Mackenzie & Ebert-designed championship golf course and Family Short Course, reserved exclusively for resident members and guests. The club will establish Moncayo as a unique destination with its unprecedented offering, including direct access to boating and water sports, a private island beach experience, a performance and golf training center, private resident’s clubhouse, and an Athletic Club offering stadium courts for tennis, pickleball and padel.

Moncayo will offer bespoke performance coaching throughout the club and residential experience. With a focus on increasing longevity and vitality, each resident will enjoy the opportunity to benefit from unique healing programs, personalized athletic movement coaching, and cuisine designed to optimize their daily lives. “Longevity is the ultimate luxury,” says Carter Redd, President. “We embark on this journey with each resident to ensure that wellness, adventure and personal growth are fundamental parts to daily life at Moncayo.”

“Moncayo has been carefully designed with community in mind. Drawing inspiration from the world’s longevity “blue zones” to create spaces that promote happier and healthier living, a 100-acre organic farm and nursery will feed the soul of the community,” said José Mercado, Moncayo Vice President and proud Puerto Rican. The farm will feature sustainable, ecologically friendly best practices such as hydroponics, water conservation, composting programs, and solar grazing. The farm will include a well-provisioned farmstand with freshly picked produce available to residents and our neighboring communities while provisioning all restaurants across within the community.

Supporting the vibrant community’s daily needs, The Village will balance social connection, lifelong learning, and wellness. Encompassing an array of walkable shops, boutique retail experiences, Class A offices, concierge medical clinic, and an accredited K-12 charter school, The Village underscores Moncayo’s commitment to comprehensive, multigenerational living.
