FORT LAUDERDALE, FLORIDA – The CHTA Education Foundation (CHTAEF) announce its newest Principal Sponsor, Classic Vacations. Classic Vacations has been the most well-respected travel company in the United States since 1978, forging deep connections, preferred partnerships, and long-standing friendships with accommodation providers in the Caribbean and around the globe.

We are thrilled to join forces with companies that prioritize social responsibility and explore innovative approaches to enhance the Foundation’s efforts.”
The CHTAEF has for almost forty years provided scholarships for entry level hospitality programs for Caribbean nationals to a variety of accredited academic institutions like Cornell, FIU, Ecole Hôtelière Lausanne, Les Roches, University of the West Indies and many more. These scholarships are designed for students ready to begin their hospitality journey and include notable alumni like Hayden Hughes, Minister of Tourism, Anguilla and Omar Robinson, former GM of Round Hill, Jamaica.
Similarly, CHTAEF recently created the Caribbean Professional Development Program which is designed to “break the glass ceiling” for Caribbean Supervisors and Managers and elevate them to senior leadership positions within three years. This program fills in key areas of knowledge to allow a meaningful, dynamic career progression.
Finally, training and development is a key area at CHTAEF with its Employee Empowerment Training programs which aim to energize and motivate hospitality and tourism professionals across all disciplines within hotel and tourism operations, catering to all career stages from line staff to supervisors and managers. Over the past four years, these programs have been delivered to more than 2,500 staff members in over a dozen islands.
