Included, which offers virtual and in-person primary, urgent and mental healthcare, named Flakne as the company’s finance chief Thursday.
He joins Included from Optum Health, the healthcare delivery arm of UnitedHealth Group’s health services unit. He held multiple strategic finance positions at Optum, where he worked for more than 11 years, according to his LinkedIn.
Flakne previously worked at water treatment and chemical company Ecolab and consultancy PwC. He’ll bring experience in business development and strategy, including mergers and acquisitions, as well as managing capital and regulatory concerns, Included said a press release.
Included was formed by the merger of care navigation platform Grand Rounds Health and virtual care company Doctor On Demand. The combined firm then acquired Included Health, a navigation company focused on the LGBTQ community.
